STEPPING INTO THE UNKNOWN

This year, 62 students from 7 different countries (Norway, Netherlands, Australia, Switzerland Burundi America and Uganda) obeyed the voice of the Lord and stepped into the unknown with just one heartbeat- to be used of God. A good number of them came to us and were honest about how they had questioned the decision to take on the challenge that they came face to face with when they entered the Watoto360 classroom for the first two week. It was not what they had expected, it was not easy or fun. Privately in their rooms, nearly every day, they cried out loud to their maker wishing He could take away “the cup of suffering” but in a still small voice he said, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weaknesses” (1cor 12:9).

It’s been close to three months now and if you walked randomly to any of these young leaders, who almost gave up in their first two weeks, you will be surprised to hear them say boldly and without hesitation, I’m a disciple of Jesus Christ. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still”. This is nothing less than the working of God!

Nearly 200 souls have come to Christ since we started ministry in the last one month and a half. As we visit Juvenile Prisons, street children, living hope centers, hospitals, teenage and pregnancy centers, the move of God is so powerfully felt that it calls for nothing less than a response of total surrender and submission. Broken hearts are being mended, wounds are healed, and families are restored. A few weeks ago we had another opportunity to share the love of Christ to the Living Hope ladies in a number of slum communities around Kampala. The students generously gave of their time and money to buy material items. You could see it while they were doing their ministry prep that they couldn’t wait to meet their individual families. From the simple gifts of kindness and love that the students took to the ladies came shouts and dances as well as tears of joy. They could not help it, but cry and get so emotional as they shared with us their experiences. That can only be nothing less than the working of God!!

That’s how God is training them. That’s how one by one He is changing them. That’s exactly how everyday He breaks their hearts for the things that break His own heart. And that’s the only reason they will not give up! They are not just students but vessels of honor being used for the Master’s service. Yes, they are clay in the potter’s hands but, they are also disciples of Jesus Christ! This is exactly why they said YES in the first place. Yes to step into the unknown!

This journey is glamorously painful but the pain of getting dirty, tired and on several occasions having their toes stepped on or even not getting the luxury of sleeping as much as they want does not compare to the glamour of knowing that they are exactly right were God wants them to be. So, even on a rough, narrow, dusty road, with a few companions, their mission is very clear and the drive to keep going is stronger than the pains of wanting to give up!

These are the last days and God is pouring out His spirit on all flesh (Joel 2:28). It is time to rebel against evil and have a greater YES to the call of God even if it means going into the UNKNOWN because even our yes can only be nothing less than the working of God!

Wonderful Six Months

Its all started as a joke. My boss and i were coming from Men Of Valor at Watoto Church Central and as we hit Kampala Road, our conversation shifted from the Awesome day of Men to my personal life. We discussed a lot of things and then suddenly i expressed my interest in joining his company if there happened to be an opportunity. He asked about any particular department of interest and since i had done some bit of accounting though without concrete experience in the area, i thought it would be a very good idea. He suggested that I give him some time to think about it and then get back to me.
A few days later, i received a call from him wondering whether i had any problems working from up country. I thought for a while before giving an answer. My first answer was whether there was an opportunity for a transfer. He promised  minimum of one year though without specifying what exactly i was going to do. I agreed to take on the offer and so he promised that someone would give me a call in regard to what we had talked about.
Its been six months down the road and still counting. I used to miss a lot of my friends and Church as well. Some times i wondered whether it was a God idea. At first i thought i would drown but then i had to think faster in order to survive. Life has not been any easy. Being in a managerial position calls for a balance between planning for your personal life and then your staff without jeopardizing the success of the company.
Looking back, my conclusion in all this is after all we have no control over our lives. God does direct the steps of a righteous man and in the end it is His will over our own. I am looking forward to the next phase of my stay in this Place.
I have seen a lot of changes happening in this side of the country as far as company growth and expansion is concerned. I have received  recognitions and hugs from the top executives but that for me is not the point! Am here to promote the kingdom of God in this Place. My next half of this journey is to work harder in growth and sales improvement but also in making God known through key character qualities being inculcated in the company. By the end of my six months, i want to be in position to identify with Paul by saying that i have fought a good fight and Indeed run a good race.
Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions.

WITH GOD ALONE!!

I guess i need some time off Facebook in order to focus more on God. Planning on replacing time on Facebook with reading my bible and reflecting on God's goodness. I am in what i could refer to as a paradigm shift. Can not believe addictions are this bad. Anything that takes way the place of God is worth destroying.
I have learned to make good decisions for my life and i am not regretting. Its one of those things that i have always wanted to do but could not cos i felt so incapable to defeat these silly decisions that get a tough hold of us. I know how important Face book is but then i also know how more important My relationship with God is. Jeopardizing this relationship is not a good idea and thank God i have realized it soon enough. I believe i am going to miss my friends for the entire time that i will be off  and some of them will never understand but, that is alright with me.
I have two weeks minimum time to do this if not the entire month. I know this is a tough decision but it is in my weakness that God's strength is revealed more. At this point i must admit that all i need is more of God and less of me. I will search and I will find Him.
I know this is His desire for me at this time and am very happy to walk in His Will for my Life,

Why Are You A Christian?

If someone asked you, “Are you a Christian?”, what would you say?Probably “Yes.” But what if they asked, “Why?”

That’s where a lot of us have problems. I could be stumped if someone asked me that and tempted to say something like, “Well, my parents raised me as a Christian” or even, “Because I believe in God.” But lots of people believe in God (Satan Believes in God too!), and what if my parents had raised me wrong? No, that is not the reason I am a Christian. When it really comes down to it, what would I say? What would you say?
The reason you are a Christian is not because you do good things like go to church or read the Bible. It is not because you were raised in a “Christian” home or nation. It’s not even because you believe in the concept of God. It is because you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the King that will reign for eternity. Your faith in Jesus is what makes you a Christian—pure and simple. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8,9).Let this simple fact be the answer to those who ask you why you are a Christian and give you great peace when you answer it right!!

Make Changes in Your Life

Make Changes in Your Life That Last

How serious are you about wanting change in your life? A lot of us want our lives to change…but we're not willing to do our part.
If you really want things to change in your life—and experience the fullness of the life Jesus died to give you—here are some things that you need to do.

Spend Time with God

First, examine your priorities and see what needs to change. You can't think spending 45 minutes or an hour in church on Sunday mornings is all you need to live in victory. Since the devil is alive and well every day, then you need a daily walk with God.
The wonderful thing is, there’s no formula. You can just be with Him. Pray, laugh, cry, talk or sit still and not open your mouth. It's that easy.

Stand Up on the Inside

Next, you need to get serious about changing your life. Every one of us has an outer life and an inner life. Many of us want our outside circumstance to change while we stay depressed on the inside. But before you can get up on the outside, you have to get up on the inside.
You may have a circumstance in your life right now where you feel like you have no choice but to sit down. If that's the case, tell yourself you're going to stay enthusiastic, passionate, stirred up, excited, positive, and full of hope and faith on the inside. Make up your mind that you're never going to quit.

Get Up and Clean Up!

In John 5 there's a story about a man who I believe represents a lot of people who refuse to change.
During a Jewish feast in Jerusalem, Jesus visited the Bethesda pool where sick people gathered, hoping to get healed. One of the people waiting to get healed was a man who had been crippled for 38 years. When Jesus saw him, He asked if he wanted to be healed.
To me, the man's answer tells us why he hadn't been healed in 38 years. He said, "I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred." Bottom line, the man had avoided responsibility.
His second problem was that he blamed others. The man said, "While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me."
How did Jesus respond? Jesus didn't feel sorry for him. Instead, Jesus said, rather sternly, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk." In other words, stop being lazy and get on with your life.
For change to occur in your life, it's not only important that you stop being a prisoner of your circumstances. You also have to choose to become a prisoner of hope. This means being a person who cannot get away from hope. If you'll do this, you'll receive double of anything that's taken away from you. That's a promise from God.

Never Give Up!

It was a special day in my life when I realized I didn't have to give up; I could have hope in the worst circumstances. Regardless of what the situation looks like, I believe that God can give me a breakthrough.
We all want instantaneous breakthrough, but it's going to take time. And you may go through long periods, even years, feeling like you haven't made any progress at all, but you have.
Most of the time change occurs daily in little increments that you don't even notice. But if you'll just look back after a year or two, you'll realize that things in your life have changed.
No matter what your circumstance or situation is, you can choose to change. You can choose to hope. You can choose to never give up. You can choose to experience the life Jesus died to give you. Now get up and go!
